The invention relates to a connector with contact pins (12, 13, 19) or sockets, like a plug or coupling, with an acceptance part (14) into which is inserted a light guide (2) with a lamp (11) and through which pass leads (24, 25) to the contact pins (12, 13, 19). The light guide (2) has at least two arms (4, 5, 6, 7) having straight inclined or curved surfaces at their meeting ends which form the reflecting deflection surface of the arm (4, 5, 6, 7) and deflect the light in the axial direction inside the arm (4, 5, 6, 7) concerned at an angle of between 40 and 140 DEG to the main radiation direction. The deflecting surfaces (8, 9, 10, 18) of the arms meet in the axis (22) of the main radiation direction of the lamp (11) at a point (23) beneath which the light guide (2) has a recess (15) in which the lamp (11) is fitted.
