<p>A mechanism is disclosed to provide a read/write device with electrically powered card ejection protection mechanism in a compartment for card media. After manually inserting a card (10) into a connector (11), a shift plate (24) is slid by a motor (31) to control an actuation pin (35) engaging a cam groove (33). A hook portion (39) of a protect arm (34) engages trailing end shoulder (40) of the card (10) for disabling ejection of the card (10). The motor (31) is rotated in the reverse direction to reversely move the shift plate (24). The cam groove (33) leads the actuation pin (35) to pivot the hook portion (39) to its open position and simultaneously the driving pin (23) pivots the pushing member (18) to move the holder (12) by the actuation shaft (16). Projections (14) help to eject the card (10) from the connector (11).</p> |
