Fire-resistant curtain for public building

The curtain (5) consists of a web of temperature resistant material forming a web surface and may be unwound from a coil (12) arranged on a coil core (11). The coil is supported by a bearing arrangement (14) including at least one supporting surface, so that the coil core, at least on one of its ends, is supported adjustably in height within a guidance. The curtain may be guided by lateral guide bars including an arrangement for preventing the inserted curtain edge to be drawn out. At least two curtain webs have surfaces that face each other and have a common end bar (6) forming a weight for the curtain. Fire-proof material may be supplied in between the two facing curtain webs.
