A rotary shuttle for a sewing machine is made of two plates which are press-formed to have dished wall portions and part-circular flanges circumferentially abutting each other, and being brazed or welded together. The plates are cut out to form a recess for the passage of a sewing needle, and a hook for catching a thread.
