Profile system in which an elastic insulation profile (7) which lies against the panes (51) of the insulation glass (5) and almost fills the edge space (6) is held by insertion on the outer profile (3). The insulation profile has a venting space (61) in the region of the edge base (52) of the glass. The insulation profile consists of a foamed material with a water-impermeable outer skin. The profile is U-shaped in cross section.
