The lifting platform comprises a support which consists of plates (10) for the support of the wheels of a vehicle, and a horizontal walkable working surface (6). The support arrangement is enclosed on at least three sides (3,4) by a horizontal walking pedestal surface (1,3,4). The walkable pedestal surfaces enclose the lifting platform in a U-shaped profile. The working surface (6) also has a front and/or rear running plate (12).
