<p>A spiral conveyor system utilising an endless flat belt (12) is disclosed. The belt (12) travels in an endless path which includes a spiral portion. The belt (12) is primarily driven in the spiral portion by a frictional engagement between the belt (12) and a rotating driving element (26).
