Optical fibre plug connector

The connector has a body in which a number of optical fibre plugs (8) are received in respective compartments (23), coupled to a carrier element (24) with corresponding channels for optical fibre cables (9). The channels are curved relative to the axes of the optical fibre plugs and are closed by a cover (7). The cover is pivoted about an axis (A) for movement into the closed position, with a pressure element (16) on the inside of the cover having a pairs of carrier arms (18) supporting U-shaped bases for clamping the optical fibre cables in the respective channels.
