The device has an electric pulse generating unit. It also has a control and regulation device for the shape, sequence and period of the pulses. At least two electrodes (13) can be fastened to the skin of the person being treated and apply the pulse stream. The control and regulation device is a microprocessor responsive to a keyboard. The microprocessor stores pulse sequences or menus which can be called up both in the form of fixed, predetermined sequence patterns and also in random and variable sequences. Switches (8) are provided in the keyboard field for switching from one menu or mode to another. Switches (9,11) are also provided in the keyboard field to fix a predetermined menu in the respective mode.
