Sealing between segments of stator nozzle ring

The connection between two adjacent blade platforms (1,2) of a turbo machine have a linear adjoining gap (3) and are covered by a layer (15,16) of easily eroded material on their radial faces. Cavities extending radially onto the platforms pass through the layer, opening onto the gap. Small strips (12) occupy the cavities and block the gap. The cavities form long grooves with curvature variations and emerge on the layer face opposite the platforms. The cavities have edge faces in front of the platform edges coincident with the ends of the gap. A joint (10) with a core occupies the cavities, the thin strips being joined to the core.
