A storage compression process for structural character and graphics by applying a novel stroke table, a novel glyph description file and a set of calculation formulas to construct a character font such as a Chinese character or Japanese Kanzi, or graphics such as icon or animation pattern. An index value is assigned to the same or similar stroke of a character or graphics. A separated stroke reference table is setup in stroke table to contain the index value and coordinates values of shape control points and width value of the stroke. Glyph description file contains stroke ID, coordinates of the first shape control point, index value, delta value of coordinates of second shape control point and after against the first shape control point, and delta value of stroke width. Through a set of of predetermined formulas, the coordinates of the second shape control points and after and the width of each stroke can be determined, thus free glyph description file from storing the coordinates of all shape control points and width value of every stroke. <IMAGE> |
