The cutting base (1) has supports (12,13) of differing surface width spaced apart at varying distances (15,16) near the support surface. The cut pieces of different height are supported, as they are lifted from the cutter base by means of the grid (7), by at least two transverse grid supports (8,8a). A further cutter cuts at right angles to the first cutter by means of ducts and lengthwise slots in the support elements.
