The road form detection system (8) determines the form of a road before the position of the vehicle on the basis of the map data. An image formation unit forms an image of a road section in front of the vehicle, on the basis of the determined road form. A temp. detector (14) determines a temp. profile before the vehicle. A superimposition unit (15) superimposed the temp. profile over the image of the road section. An abnormal temp. zone judgment unit (16), decides whether a zone with an abnormal temp. occurs in the road section, e.g. low temp. due to snow or ice, and high temp. due to person present on the road. An alarm device (17) provides an alarm signal for the driver of the vehicle. A control system (18) operates the alarm, if it is determined, that the zone with an abnormal temp. occurs.
