A valve (50), in a vehicle parking brake system including a manually openable valve (16) comprises a housing (55) having first, second and third ports (61, 62, 63) and an opening; a body portion (65) rotatably mounted inside the housing (55), the body portion (65) including first and second channels (71, 72) passing therethrough; a non-return valve means (75, 76) disposed in the second channel (72) which permits fluid to flow therethrough in only one direction; a lock disposed in the opening which can be activated to rotate the body portion such that one of either the first or second channels extends from the first to the second port (61, 62), while the other of the first or second channels (71, 72) is in communication with the third port (63). For brake release compressed air flows to the brake via conduits (24, 26) and first channel (71).
