METHOD FOR OPENING MOLD IN SYNTHETIC RESIN FOAM MOLDING MACHINE

PURPOSE: To solve an imperfection of release of lock mechanisms and to improve productivity by releasing the lock mechanisms under a condition where steam rooms in a mold are lower than the atmosphere. CONSTITUTION: The pressure conditions of steam rooms 2c and 3c when lock mechanisms 9 and 10 are released are set at a pressure being smaller than the atmospheric pressure. The lock mechanisms 9 and 10 have been conventionally released after cooling is performed under vacuum and the steam rooms 2c and 3c under vacuum are returned to the atmospheric pressure but in this method, the lock mechanisms 9 and 10 are released at a specified vacuum condition on the midway for returning the vacuum condition to the atmospheric pressure. As the inside of the mold is under vacuum condition thereby, a movable mold 3 is pushed on a fixed mold 2 by the atmospheric pressure generated on the side face of the outer periphery to suppress the warpage (or bending) of the movable mold 3. No strain is generated thereby in the lock mechanisms 9 and 10 and they can be smoothly released.
