PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain easy access of a catheter to a target site within a soft tissue by arranging in a slender tubular member an inner reinforcing liner with a helical cut extending from an inner surface to an outer surface and an outer tubular cover containing a polymeric coating material in such a way that the inner liner and the outer tubular cover are in a coaxial relationship. SOLUTION: A catheter main body or catheter section 200 has a polymeric inner tubular reinforcing member 202 which is cut in a helical form at the side and an outer polymer layer 204. A distal marker 206 that is a radiation impermeable marker is made of platinum or any other suitable radiation impermeable material. When a distal tip of the catheter is present in a body, a physician can visualize the position of the distal tip of the catheter by means of X-ray photograph. Furthermore, a proximal marker 208 is arranged. The outer polymer layer 204 is made of a material selected from among polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride and polyethylene. |
