PURPOSE: To optimize the timing when a printer device main body is shifted in sleep mode by monitoring timer clocking end states which are clocked at the same time in parallel by a 1st and a 2nd timer. CONSTITUTION: A CPU 208 is provided with the 1st timer TM1 which clocks a desired wait time and the 2nd timer TM2 which clocks a desired job time-out time. The CPU 208 controls the whole device according to a control program stored in a ROM 214. When it is decided that there is no data in an input buffer 203, the CPU 208 starts the job time-out timer TM2 and sleep timer TM1 at the same time. Then the timer clocking end states which are clocked at the same time in parallel by the timers TM1 and TM2 are monitored to determine sleep mode process start timing or job time-out process start timing. |
