PURPOSE: To find the best composite adaption degree by finding a small and a large adaption degree, combining both the adaption degrees, and varying the division ratio of the combination. CONSTITUTION: When a membership function has plural inputs, the best composite adaption degree is found by adding a value ((1-α)B), obtained by multiplying an adaption degree B obtained by a max-min method among adaption degrees obtained corresponding to the inputs by the remaining division ratio (1-α), to a value (αA) obtained by multiplying an adaption degree A obtained by a min- max method among adaption degrees obtained corresponding to the same inputs by a division ratioα. Thus, when the membership function has plural inputs, the min-max method and max-min method are combined and the division ratio of the combination is varied to find the best composite adaption degree.
