Window comprising a frame, a window panel which is set in said frame and consists of a panel of transparent material, one or more radiation emitters disposed along an edge of the window panel by means of which radiation can be radiated into the window panel, and one or more radiation receivers by means of which the radiation emitted by said transmitter(s) can be received. The transmitter(s) and receiver(s), together with their supply leads, are fastened to one or more elongate, strip- shaped supports. The frame is composed of profiles (sections) which, seen in cross section, are provided with two longitudinal legs parallel to one another, of which the section near one end is designed for clamping the edge section of the window panel, with the interposition of sealing strips, a number of guide ribs which project from the inner surface of the said longitudinal legs and are designed to guide and support (one of) the said strip-shaped supports and at least one cross-leg which extends between the two parallel longitudinal legs at a location between the said guide ribs and the other end of the parallel longitudinal legs.
