<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a water-base colored polyester dispersion which, when used as a recording material, enables high-quality image recording and printing and has a good storage stability and an improved reliability in clogging preven tion in a recording system by finely dispersing fine particles of a specific polyes ter resin in a water-base medium. CONSTITUTION: The dispersion is prepd. by forming a polyester resin into fine particles by a mechanical or surface-chemical dispersing method, sufficiently mixing and dissolving a dye, a water-sol. org. compd., and a base, and adding water to disperse in it. The polyester resin is produced by a vacuum polymn., a reduced-pressure polymn., etc., from a polycarboxylic acid component contg. at least 30mol% alicyclic dicarboxylic acid and a polyhydric alcohol component contg. 10-100mol% aliph. diol and 0-90mol% alicyclic diol, is cross-linked and colored with an oil-sol. dye which is hydrophobic and/or sol. in an org. solvent, has an ionic group content of 20-2,000eq/ton, an average particle size of 0.01-1.0μm, a specific gravity of 1.26 or lower, and a glass transition temperature of 30 deg.C or higher, and has org. amine salt groups as the ionic groups.</p> |
