<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the optical pickup and the disk from being damaged and to obtain information with excellent quality by providing a mirror member to each back side of plural magnetic dipole chips. SOLUTION: The optical pickup is provided with a grating 15 to diffract a light emitted from a light source 11 into a main optical beam and an auxiliary optical beam, and with plural magnetic dipole chips 20 (21-23) arranged side by side so as to attain an interaction with a magnetic signal recorded on the magneto-optical disk 10. Each of plural mirror members 30 (31-33) is fitted to each of the magnetic dipole chips 20 so as to be moved with each of the magnetic dipole chips 20 to reflect a light made incident to one side of each mirror member from the light source 11. A photocoupler 19 receives a light reflected in each mirror member 30 to detect a track error and recorded information. Thus, detection of the signal is independently of a size of magnetic domains formed on the disk, and then a sufficient distance is designed between the disk and the optical pickup so as to prevent the optical pickup and the disk from being damaged and information with high quality is obtained.</p> |
