<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solder a memory card connector and a shroud at the same time and to visually inspect a soldered connection part afterward by providing a slot extending in the same direction as terminals in the shroud covering terminals of a memory connector 22. SOLUTION: When a connector assembly 20 to be installed in an upper surface 82 of a substrate 80 is assembled, an upper plate surface 52 of a shroud 50 is put on a surface 26 away from a substrate of a housing 24. Moreover, a plate spring part 56 slides into a fixed position in a card receiving entrance 32, and a sidewall 58 and a flange 60 cover the housing 24. When the connector assembly 20 is installed on the substrate upper surface 82, a lead terminal 42 comes in contact with a corresponding pad 84 and a terminal part 70 is inserted in a through hole 86. The solder paste, etc., are spread on the pad 84 and the holes 86. The connector assembly 20 after installed passes through an infrared furnace of about 230 deg.C. Heat reaches solder paste on the circuit pad 84 by a slot 64 and the solder paste melts, achieving an electric mutual connection.</p> |
