PURPOSE: To provide an developing device provided with excellent color stability, and capable of effectively reducing or eliminating the inconvenience of having developer flown out of a developing unit, and another developer changed in color. CONSTITUTION: As for the developing device provided with plured developing units 15 containing developing roller 101 rotary driven in a specified direction at the time of forming an image and developer control members 105 for restricting a feeding amount of the developer to the respective developing roller 101, arranged in bias by putting plural units laid over the other, and adopting while switching the respective developing unit 15, when the developing roller 101 is slightly reversed in rotation after completion of the respective developing, the reverse rotation of the developing roller 101 continues, so that the developer stay in the vicinity of the respective developer control member 105 is reduced. Moreover, a gap is provided on ceiling side of the developing unit 15 so as to prevent the developer stay from sticking to the ceiling side, when the developing roller is rotated in the specified direction. Possibly, the screw 103 for agitating the developer is reversed in rotation, when the developing roller 101 is inversely rotated. |
