PURPOSE: To improve a directional characteristic by forming the outer shape of a resin part including LED elements to an approximately round shaped outer shape, thereby concentrating generated light in a visual field direction existing at the front surfaces of the LEDs. CONSTITUTION: This display device selectively displays figures 0 to 9 with seven pieces of segments 10. These segments 10 are composed of the LED elements 11 and a translucent resin part 12. This translucent resin part 12 molds the LED elements 11 over the entire part thereof and its outer shape has the approximately round shape. The emitted light toward the front surface direction from the LED elements 11 is directed toward the peak part of the round shape of the resin part 12 by this shape and since the peak part forms not a rectangular but gentle projecting part, the light is released via this gentle projecting part. Then, the emitted light eventually heads mostly toward the visual field direction and the directional characteristic is improved. The effective utilization of the emitted light is made possible. The resin part 12 may be formed as a layer of the outer shape alone without molding the entire surface of the LED elements 11. |
