An operator's control lever which is shifted to actuate a hydraulic motor is returned to the initial position to stop the motor after a preselected amount of travel of a element driven by the motor. A fluidic circuit has means producing digital signals indicative of successive increments of travel of the element and has a counter for storing any preselected number of such signals. When the selected count is reached, a kick-out means manipulates the operator's control lever to stop further operation of the motor. The count required to stop the motor, and thus the amount of travel of the element, may be changed by turning of a control knob. The system is applicable, for example, to limiting movement of the lift arms of a loader vehicle.
