PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the ratio of foreign particles to the quantity of a sample by deciding which of nonferrous metal or opaque foreign matter in a group of foreign matter is identified immediately before variation 6f weight and determining a group of corresponding foreign matter. SOLUTION: A sample is fed to a shoot 1 and a sensor 2 identifies a nonferrous metal while a sensor 3 identifies an opaque foreign matter. When one of the sensors 2, 3 detects impurities of nonferrous metal, a pulse signal corresponding to the type of impurities is transmitted on a data line 10.2, 10.3 to a computer 10 and a blow off nozzle is operated with some time lag to blow off the impurities from a glass flow. Impurities thus blown off are collected by a collection tray 6 and pure glass fragments passed through a free fall passage 4 are collected by a glass tray 8. A computer 10 is connected, on the input side thereof, with the sensors 2, 3 and weighing boxes 7, 9 for determining increase of weight of trays 6, 8 and, on the output side thereof, with a monitor 11 and a printer 12.
|
