<p>PURPOSE: To suitably control in accordance with the type of a recording head or a power source by setting the state of a recording operation based on a recording quantity in the recording operation and the power supply capacity of the power source. CONSTITUTION: A recording duty which can be driven at the time of each record scanning is set based on the type of a recording head and the power source capacity of a power source of an image forming apparatus (step S1). The recording duty of a recording head is obtained based on print data at each record scanning of a plurality of the scanning. Prior to the start of the scanning, the recording duty based on the print data of the head is compared with the recording duty set based on the type of the head and the power supply amount (steps S2, S6), and control means controls the operating state of the scanning based on the comparison result (steps S3 to S5, S7 to S9).</p> |
