PURPOSE: To easily obtain a solid solution single crystal having an uniform composition by preparing a solution for depositing the solid solution of the composition where a part of the elements of KTiOPO4 is replaced with another element, and subsequently raising a single crystal, while a temperature and the composition are constantly maintained. CONSTITUTION: A solid solution deposition solution 3 for depositing a solid solution having a composition wherein at least one element of K, Ti and P in KTiOPO4 is partially or wholly replaced with at least one kind of other element (e.g. Na) is prepared. The deposition solution 3 is charged into a crucible 1 having a bulkhead 2, and the bottom of a seed crystal 5 is brought into contact with the surface of the solution 3. The temperature of the deposition solution 3 is constantly maintained for the growth of the single crystal, and a crystal 7 for supply is added to the deposition solution 3 from a place separated from the seed crystal 5 with the bulkhead 2 in response to the growth of the crystal to maintain the composition of the solution 3 at a constant composition for depositing the objective solid solution at the temperature. While the contact of the growing crystal with the solution 3 is maintained, the grown crystal is moved outside the solution 3. |
