Process for limiting and/or reducing the foam slag volume in a metallurgical vessel formed in gas releasing reactions, esp. in refining metal charges, whereby the slag volume increase or slag level rise in the vessel is sensed and, on reaching a given max. value, gas is blown on the surface of and/or into the foam slag forming above the melt until the volume enlarging foaming is terminated. Process equipment is also claimed. |
