PURPOSE: To provide an image identifying device which is capable of identifying the kind of an identifying object such as a seal whose location is not fixed in a rotation direction exactly and at high speed by using the feature of the pattern. CONSTITUTION: A line sensor 102 and an image input part 103 input the image to be an identifying object C as image data A start/termination detection part 104, a coordinate generation part 105 and a center location detection part 106 detect the coordinate data of the center location of the identifying object C by this inputted image data. An angle calculation part 107 calculates the angle value for each picture element of the image data inputted by defining this detected center location as a reference. A cumulative part 108 switches an area based on this determined angle data and adds the picture element value of the image data to the corresponded cumulative part. A feature analysis part 109 determines the feature amount which is constant to the rotation of the identifying object C from the output of the cumulative part 108. A comparison part 110 compares the output of the feature analysis part 109 with the output of a standard data storage part 111 and identifies whether the identifying object is a desired one or not. |
