PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a biocompatible adhesive/sealant for securing surgical devices for securing completely an implantable surgical device in a patient by covering the surgical device with a sealant comprising a slurry consisting of monomers, a semicrystalline aliphatic polyster, a calcium-containing compound and water respectively represented by specific formulae. SOLUTION: This biocompatible adhesive/sealant is selected from the group of slurries consisting of a material made from monomers represented by the formula: CHR<1> =CX<1> Y<1> (wherein X<1> and Y<1> are each a strong electrophilic group), an in vivo absorbable semicrystalline aliphatic polyester represented by the formula: [-O-R<11> -C (O)-] (wherein R<11> is selected from the group of the -CR<12> H-, R<12> is hydrogen or methyl) a calcium-containing compound represented by the formula: M<2+> 10-n +N<1+> 2n (WO4 <3-> )6m U<x-> (wherein (n) is an integer from 1 to 10, and (m) is 2 when (x) is 1 or (m) is 1 when (x) is 2), and partialy covers the implantable surgical devices. |
