Novel title cpds of formula (I) (where R1 is H or COR3; R3 is lower alkyl; R2 is CH3, or R2 may be Cl when R1 is H or R2 may be H when R1 is COR3; A is CO, 1,3-dioxolane-2-ylidene or 1,3-dioxane-2-ylidene), are prepd. by reaction of (I. -(CH2)3A-Ph-F=H) and X-(CH2)3-A-Ph-F (where X = Cl, Br, I or org. sulphonic acid radical), in an org. solvent, at 50--150 degrees for 1-70 hrs.
