PURPOSE: To accurately control the surface temp. of a fixing roller and to secure excellent fixability by additionally providing a means for correcting a temperature value outputted from a temperature detecting means lower by a prescribed temp. CONSTITUTION: In this fixing device constituted to provide the fixing roller 1 having plural heating pipes inside in a longitudinal direction, a pressure roller coming into press-contact with the fixing roller 1 and a thermistor 3 which is disposed outside the paper passing region of the fixing roller 1 and detects its surface temp., the means for correcting the temperature value outputted by the thermistor 3 lower by a prescribed temp. is additionally provided and the temp. of the fixing roller 1 is controlled by using the corrected temperature value. In other words, the temp. detected by the thermistor 3 disposed in a paper nonpassing part is corrected to a paper passing part temp. important for a fixing operation and then the temp. of the roller 1 is controlled. In the case of controlling the temp., it is preferable that a prescribed temperature value to be corrected is varied in accordance with a passed paper size. Moreover, in the case of consecutively passing the paper, the prescribed temperature value may be switched successively. |
