SOLID ELECTROLYTE CARBON DIOXIDE GAS SENSOR AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE: To provide a solid electrolyte carbon dioxide gas sensor which has large vapor condensation resistance and easy production. CONSTITUTION: A solid electrolyte carbon dioxide gas sensor comprises an ion conductive ceramic element 3 made of solid electrolyte having an electrode 4 on one surface and an opposed surface covered with a sensing material layer 2b containing alkali metal carbonate as a main ingredient, a porous electrode 9 covering the layer 2b, a ceramic or gas layer completely covering the electrode 4 formed on one surface of the element 3, and a heater 7 provided on a ceramic board 6 via the ceramic or glass layer. The electrode 9 is formed by a method for mixing dispersed particles to be decomposed at the time of previously baking the electrode in the paste in the sensor.
