OPTIMIZATION OF ADAPTIVE FILTER TAP SETTING FOR THE SUBBELT ACOUSTICS ECHO CANCELER IN THE ELECTRONIC CONFERENCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove reverberation energy by incorporating data on a power spectrum in a tap weighted function. SOLUTION: A sound impulse response function in a room is automatically and locally measured by an impulse response test unit 40. The impulse response is compressed into a desired tap profile through allocated calculation of the calculation unit 41 the canceler 10, then an optimum tap profile is selected, and a stored weight list is used for calculation. The calculated optimum tap profile is assigned to the subband adaptive filter of the echo canceler.
