<p>PURPOSE: To omit the input setting operation by discriminating the kind of tapes, providing a mode for automatically setting the recording system and detecting the kind of cassette tapes from the existence of a detecting hole at the time of recording operation. CONSTITUTION: When the automatic discriminating mode is selected, the kind of cassettes is discriminated at the time point of receiving an instruction for recording by the operation of a recording button on a control panel 60. When it is discriminated to be D-cassette, it is judged that the digital recording is performed, and the digital signal input is selected by a switch 51 and also a digital signal processing circuit 54 is activated to start the recording operation. When it is not D-cassette, the setting of a manual mode changeover switch of the control panel 60 is ascertained. When the digital recording is selected and also in the case of S-cassette, the digital recording is started. The recording is not permitted in the case of V-cassette, and this effect is warned to the operator.</p> |
