<p>PURPOSE: To provide an optical connector capable of protecting the tip ends of optical fibers with a relatively small number of parts. CONSTITUTION: This optical connector has a plug housing 20 having a recessed fitting part 22 formed with projections 22a, 22b on an inside wall surface 20a along a fitting direction shown by an arrow 12, an optical fiber protective member 40 which has a planar base part 42 and advances and retreats within this recessed fitting part 22 toward a fitting direction and a header housing 60 which has a projecting fitting part 62 to be fitted to the recessed fitting part 22. A pair of L-shaped legs 44 and projections 22a are engaged in the state that the plug housing 20 and the header housing 60 are not fitted at all, by which the optical fiber protective member 40 is arranged in the plug housing 20 in the state of allowing the front end of the optical fiber 24 to exist in a through-hole 42a.</p> |
