The assembly consists of two identical components (D1, D2) situated on the inside of each hub (M1, M2) and connected to an inner pivoted parallelogram mechanism. One of the two components (D1) is connected to the hub of a driving wheel with a rail (18) controlled by the handicapped person using the wheelchair, while the other one is connected to the hub of an idler wheel, the second drive hand-rail (23) being mounted on the rim of the first wheel (R1). Each of the two components (D1, D2) has an inner hollow cylinder which fits against the thrust surface of the corresponding hub, allowing for the insertion of a long spindle (3) which passes through the hub and partly through the cylinder, and is equipped with an elastic centring ring. |
