PURPOSE: To easily recognize a broadcast start time and station information by allowing a CPU to read a bit map of a program list and to provide it to an NTSC encoder, in which the bit map of the program list is converted into a signal in compliance with the NTSC system and displaying the signal to a television receiver. CONSTITUTION: At application of power, a CPU 1 reads a program stored in a ROM 2. That is, the CPU 1 reads a bit map of a program list from a RAM 3 and gives it to an NTSC encoder 6, in which the bit map of the program list is converted into a signal in compliance with the NTSC system and the signal is fed to a TV receiver 22, on which the signal is displayed. The CPU 1 reads a range to be discriminated in the bit map of the program list expanded in the RAM 3, e.g. a range of 3-channel×3-hours and controls the display on the television receiver 22. Thus, the image is displayed as a program list of a form of, e.g. 3-channel×3-hours on the television receiver 22.
