PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a system provided with plural mutually connected constituting elements for supporting service parameters for performing communication among the constituting elements. SOLUTION: Which constituting element supports the service parameter with compatibility is judged and the group of the constituting elements is identified. The adjacent constituting elements exchanges information frames for identifying the service parameters. The respective constituting elements compare the service parameters with the ones of the adjacent constituting elements, judge whether or not they are provided with the compatibility and update their own service parameters as needed. The constituting element which performs updating issues a different information frame. Thus, the information frames are exchanged until the constituting elements for supporting the service parameters with the compatibility and the service parameter used among the constituting elements are judged. Further, unique addresses are automatically allocated to all ports inside a system. The control of an utilizable address range is supplied to a master constituting element first and then, transferred to the other constituting elements.
