PURPOSE: To grant priority to error processing and to prevent interruption of operation, when resuming an actual image forming operation by confirming a mode set before the reloading of a thermal fixing device and releasing an automatic start in the case where the mode to become an error is set. CONSTITUTION: In the setting of a staple mode during standing-by for reloading by using an automatic starting function, when an original copy is not set on an ADF 27 (including the case the original copy is set on a contact glass 8), the error processing is executed during the standing-by for reloading after a start key is depressed and a warning is displayed at once (before a coping operation is started), to interrupt automatic start processing. Therefore, when an actual copying operation is started, a device is not stopped by the occurrence of the error. In other words, time during the standing-by for reloading can be effectively used and the operability of a copying machine is improved. For inhibited modes except the staple mode and other errors in input as well, the above-mentioned control can be applied. |
