PURPOSE: To display a cursor only as required so as not to disturb the display of other information. CONSTITUTION: A television receiver 3 receives a signal from a remote commander 1 sensing a coordinate (x, y) of a finger tip placed on a pad 2 and sending the coordinate signal and indicates a cursor 6 at a position corresponding to the coordinate (x, y) included in the signal. In this case, the television receiver 3 discriminates whether the finger tip touches on the pad 2 or the finger tip is parted from the pad 2 based on the reception signal from the remote commander 1 and indicates the cursor when it is discriminated that the finger tip touches on the pad 2 and indicates no cursor when it is discriminated that the finger tip is parted from the pad 2. |
