PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for variable password access. SOLUTION: These method and system for controlling access to a data processing system through the use of a variable password are provided. In one execution example, the value of a variable is replaced with a formula included in a password defined beforehand, the formula and the password are evaluated, the result of the evaluation of the password is compared with a character string inputted to the data processing system and the access is permitted when they are the same. The range of the value is allowed for the specified character of the password. In the password, it can be requested to input the specified character within an already defined time interval measured from the input of the other character. It is possible that the value of an environment variable referred to by the variable password is changed from time to time as the function of the present time, a temperature and a system utilization degree, etc., for instance. |
