PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide element useful for making a high contrast image, which can be handled under the bright room for a long period without increase in the minimum concentration of an element. SOLUTION: The above film comprises a support and at least one silver halide emulsion on the support, wherein the emulsion includes 1) a compound of the VIII group; 2) at least 85mol% silver chloride particles; and aryl hydrazine expressed in the formula. In the formula, Ar is a substituted phenyl group, B is a coupling group containing one to three methylene groups, and Q is imidazolium, substitutional imidazolium or amino pyridinlum group. A is an anion. The photosensitive element has a white light resistance value of 15 minutes at least.
