PURPOSE: To avoid such a situation that it is impossible to execute a copying operation before the repair of a sorter is completed by making possible to electrically separate the abnormal position and to restart the copying operation even in the case an abnormality occurs in the sorter. CONSTITUTION: A copying machine with a sorter is provided with a sorting mechanism 202 for sorting and discharging copying sheets, a sort bin driving part 203, a punch/staple driving part 204, or abnormality monitoring parts 206, 207 and 208 for monitoring whether or not the abnormality occurs in a take-out device driving part 205 for driving a take-out device 76 for stacking the copying sheets in a stacking part. When the occurrence of the abnormality is recognized by the abnormality monitoring parts 206, 207 and 208, an abnormality occurrence signal including abnormal position discrimination data is given to the main control part 200 by a sorter control part 201. The abnormal position is electrically separated by the main body control part 200 based on the abnormality occurrence signal. Then, the copying operation is automatically restarted while using other normal positions. |
