PURPOSE: To provide a compressed data continuous reproduction system in which continuous reproduction is realized without causing a sense of incongruity. CONSTITUTION: When two or more image and audio compressed data streams are read from an information storage medium 12 and reproduced continuously, a succeeding data stream is stored in a buffer memory 9 as a storage means in advance and a reset timing or the like for a decoder in an image processing section 14 and an audio processing section 15 is set properly, and the image and audio compressed data stream reproduced at present is replaced with other image and audio compressed data stream in a timing when no frame is extended.
