PURPOSE: To provide a digital information recording method capable of easily performing encoding/decoding when digital information is recorded on a plane recording face as a two-dimensional pattern. CONSTITUTION: A specific pattern 22 formed by attaching marks on plural squares connected in specific shape so as to show a position on a recording face 20, and a rectangular block formed by connecting the plural squares in rectangular shape in vertical and horizontal directions and with size larger than that in the vertical and horizontal directions of the specific pattern are set. An information recording area 23 to express the two-dimensional pattern is constituted by arranging a segment G in which the specific pattern 22 is arranged by superimposing or circumscribing on the rectangular block 21 in square unit, and arranging plural segments G on the recording face 20 without generating a gap. The digital information to be recorded is recorded by dividing corresponding into the number of segments.
