PURPOSE: To provide the facsimile interface unit(FIU) in which communication is surely executed even when response speed capability of a facsimile equipment is inferior to other facsimile equipment. CONSTITUTION: The FIU 16 that receives packet data in a prescribed format via an INMARSAT digital satellite channel 14 from a transmission station 11, converts the received packet data into a G3 facsimile signal and sends the facsimile signal to a facsimile equipment 17, is provided with a storage circuit 19 storing plural G3 response signals and plural response signals corresponding respectively to the plural G3 facsimile signals. When the G3 facsimile signal is generated from the received packet data, a response signal corresponding to the G3 facsimile signal is immediately read from the storage circuit 19, the response signal is converted into packet data of a prescribed format and the data are sent to the INMARSAT digital satellite channel 14 to be returned to the transmission station 11. |
