PURPOSE: To obtain a carbon dioxide gas detecting element which has excellent steam resistance characteristics and mechanical strength, high speed response, and excellent repetitive reproducibility. CONSTITUTION: An alkali metal ion conductive glass 1 is connected to an oxygen ion conductive ceramic element 2, a detecting pole side electrode 4a is connected to the opposite side to the connecting surface of the glass 1, a reference pole side electrode 4b is connected to the opposite side surface to the connecting surface of the element 2, and a metal carbonate 3 is provided on the electrode 4a. |
