<p>PURPOSE: To provide a reflection-type object detection method, by microwaves, in which an object can be detected without any malfunction and with high detection accuracy. CONSTITUTION: A microwave transmitter 1 and a microwave receiver 2 are installed respectively so as to be directed to an object 30, to be detected, which is provided with a reflecting device 18. In a method, microwaves 17 in which microwaves 15 discharged from the microwave transmitter 1 are reflected by a reflecting device 16 are received by the microwave receiver 2, and the position of the existence of the object 30 or a distance up to the object 30 from the microwave transmitter and the microwave receiver is detected. The device 16 reflects the microwaves 15 discharged from the transmitter 1 so as to change their electric-field direction, and the microwave receiver 2 receives microwaves whose electric-field direction is identical to the electric-field direction of the microwaves 17 reflected by the device 16.</p> |
